3 September 2008

Meyer Sound names Karoly Molnar as Technical Support Director for Asia-Pacific and Middle East

Meyer Sound has announced the appointment of Károly Molnár to the newly created position of Director of Technical Support and Services, Asia-Pacific and Middle East. In his new role, Molnár will oversee support and design services for Meyer Sound’s rapidly growing user base in the busy Asian and Middle Eastern regions, and will continue to serve as an instructor for the company’s expansive education program.

Molnár joined Meyer Sound in 2004 as part of the company’s European technical support team. Molnár has previously held positions with several major Hungarian pro audio companies including ATEC Hungary before he co-founded Chromatica Ltd, a systems design and installation firm. He has provided support for concerts including José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, Metallica, Roger Waters, Kylie Minogue, and has been involved in the sound design for Sziget Festival, Palace of Arts Budapest, and Aarhus Theater in Denmark. Molnár is also a certified operator of the SIM 3 audio analyzer and a member of the design team for Meyer Sound’s Constellation® electroacoustic architecture.

“Károly has long been one of our most accomplished support engineers,” remarked Meyer Sound’s international sales director, Mike Cooper. “Having him available to respond to the support needs of this vital region is invaluable to Meyer Sound, and a tremendous asset to our customers based there, as well as those touring through the region.”

Applications of Meyer Sound products have expanded to include many recent high-profile events in the region, including the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, the Dubai Jazz Festival, and installations in Macao’s Venetian Arena and Tokyo’s Akasaka ACT Theater. “It’s no secret that Meyer Sound’s activities in Asia and the Middle East have been undergoing significant growth, resulting in a need for increased attention and resources,” added Molnár. “I look forward to building a strong team to provide the level of comprehensive and accessible technical services Meyer Sound customers expect and deserve.”

Currently based in Budapest, Hungary, Molnár will soon relocate to Southeast Asia, where he will be able to better oversee the technical support in the region.
