Atomium create backdrop for UNICEF concert.

26 November 2008 12.00 BST

(Brussels) - For the second year running, Brussels’ Atomium provided the spectacular backdrop for a recent concert in aid of UNICEF’s ‘Save Four Million Babies’ campaign.

Televised in a joint production by VRT and RTBF, the concert featured acts like Air Traffic, Charlene Spiteri and Starsailor.

EML Productions Belgium provided the lighting rig which included 180 Colours21 LED fixtures from Italian manufacturer Colours. These were arranged across the top of the stage set and were chosen, according to EML, for “their consistency of colours and their mesmerising brightness.” The LED fixtures were accompanied by a host of Vari-lite units: 145 VL5s, five VL2Cs, 36 VL2500 spots and 56 VL3500 washes.

Over 30,000 spectators came to watch the show, which was broadcast to 42 countries across Europe and beyond.
