Lafayette College Upgrades Fisher Stadium with Community

Communication Systems of Allentown, Pennsylvania has redesigned the audio system at Lafayette College.

Founded in 1826 in Easton, Pennsylvania, Lafayette College offers degree programs in the liberal arts and engineering to its 2,400 full-time students. Lafayette has an active sports and recreational program with modern facilities including Fisher Stadium, home of the Lafayette Leopards football team.

In 2006 the stadium underwent a renovation including additional seating, synthetic turf, stadium lighting and a 19-inch by 35-inch video display. It also included sound system upgrades but the upgraded system did not provide even coverage and had neighbourhood spill issues.

To solve these issues, Wayne Becker of Communication Systems added two Community R2-94 loudspeakers on the press box and four Community R.5-94Ts facing the field for use during practice. A Biamp Audia Flex provides presets for pregame and game configurations along with zone level controls and DSP delay for the visitor seating loudspeakers.

“Announcements are clear and intelligible,” said Wayne, "and we’ve solved the neighbourhood spill problem.
